The Master Gardeners of Oakland County Michigan (lead by me) visited one of Toronto Botanical Garden’s tours “Through the Garden Gate”. The 2006 tour visited the Toronto Islands. The cottages and small gardens were adorable. It was an enchanting day!
Here are teasers from the 2006 Toronto Islands…
This year the Toronto Botanical Garden is having a tour of 22 private gardens in Swansea Village on June 11-12. This looks like another wonderful tour.
Gosh, I want to go!
Here is some additional information…
Swansea Village, 2011
The tour this year will visit 22 spectacular private gardens in the area of Toronto known as “SwanseaVillage”, and feature great views of Grenadier Pond, the HumberRiver, Brule Pond and HighPark.
A comprehensive garden guide outlining the unique features of each garden is provided and Toronto Master Gardeners will be located in each garden to answer questions and identify plant material. Complimentary shuttle buses continuously drive the route, giving participants the option to “hop on and hop off” at each of the gardens.
Through the Garden Gate is an important fundraising event for the Toronto Botanical Garden whose purpose is to inspire passion, respect and understanding of gardening, horticulture, the natural landscape and a healthy environment.
